Compete Launches An Enhaced API
Pipe the analytics metrics of any website directly into your own app or website. |
|
The Compete API gives organizations direct access to Compete’s enormous database of analytics metrics for any website. Analysts, Marketers, and Publishers alike can seamlessly integrate Compete’s data within their own reporting tools, applications, or website content. Basic access to our API is free. A premium version of our API is available for organizations with large call volumes or who want access to advanced metrics.
What Exactly is an API?
An API (application programming interface), is a convenient web service that acts as a middleman and a translator between two unrelated systems or applications; in this case Compete's database of web metrics and your external application.
Your application will ask for data with a “call“ that the API translates into a query in our databases. The database then returns data that the API again translates into a format that your Application can use. This allows for flexible integration into your existing website, application, or services. So with a little bit of code, you can basically use the Compete API to talk directly to large banks of data in a format that you're familiar with.
